Our top destinations for cigar smokers
Cuba
Unsurprisingly, our top location for cigar aficionados is the Caribbean Island home to some of some of the most renowned cigars. With a gorgeous tropical climate and stunning scenery, it makes the ideal location for a luxurious getaway, and with a rich culture and extensive nightlife scene there’s a little bit of something for everyone to enjoy. Dominican Republic
The original homeland of cigars, the Dominican Republic offers a wide range of activities to cigar aficionados, such as a trip to one of the many cigar factories including the Davidoff Factory, La Aurora Cigar World, Quesada Cigars Factory
and the Tabacalera De Garcia Factory. Keep it low key with a round of golf on the La Cana Golf Course, surrounded by crystal clear waters and panoramic sea views, or roam around the country’s tobacco fields, explore the beaches or enjoy the lively nightlife.
Tampa
The vibrant city in Florida, once the cigar capital of the world, continues to attract aficionados as a result of its place in cigar history, after cigar manufacturers flocked to the city in the 17th century, bringing with them hundreds of Spanish and Cuba immigrants to work in the cigar factories that they planned to build. The communities of workers then formed one of Tampa’s most popular neighbourhoods, Ybor City, which is now where the annual Cigar Heritage Festival is held. With a bustling nightlife and some fantastic Latin American food, this city would make a great holiday destination!
Switzerland
The perfect location for fans of Davidoff cigars, Switzerland not only houses the brand’s original store in Basel but is also home to the Davidoff-Schiff Ship. Las Vegas
Although somewhat lacking in expanses of tobacco fields and historical factories, Las Vegas makes the list for being one of the only places where you can enjoy a cigar indoors, and sometimes even for free when gambling. Plus, the city is home to some of the biggest tobacco conventions, and Casa Fuente located inside the Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace offers a great selection of Arturo Fuente cigars.
Nassau, Bahamas
Home to Graycliff cigars, Nassau offers way more than just a factory tour, with a stay at the family owned Graycliff hotel offering the complete cigar travel experience.
